If you’ve ever tried to landscape your own backyard and you’ve put in a patio or walkway made of bricks or cobblestones, then you’re already familiar with the term patio pavers. This is what you call the bricks or cobblestones that are used to pave a patio.

There are various patio paver designs that you can choose from, and you can arrange them into different patterns to achieve the effect that you want. You can use the paved area as a place to keep your barbecue grill or as a bridge from your house to your pool. You can also use it as a path from the back door to the yard, or as a walkway through the garden so that the grass won’t be stepped on.

Patio pavers have a lot of uses and are remarkably better as compared to simple concrete. For one thing, concrete can easily crack and fracture due to freezing rain or because of ground settling. You won’t have these problems with brick patio pavers, which are free to move with the ground since they are not mortared into place. Usually, brick pavers are only held together with sand filler or even laid on the ground on their own. The adhesive you use would depend on the paver you are using.

Aside from this, patio paver installation is a breeze compared to the work needed when using concrete to make a patio. It is a fairly simple process that you can do yourself. You only need to pick out the paver you want to use, and then make a design. Of course, you will need to haul away dirt in preparation for the paving, so you need to be prepared for that. Depending on the magnitude of your paving project, you may need a Bobcat or a spade to help you dig up the dirt, and a dump truck or wheelbarrow to haul it away.

Brick is probably the cheapest patio paver available in the market today, and it’s also the easiest to use. Once the ground is levelled, you can lay the sand buffer then start setting the bricks in position.
