A number of people might tell you that even if you are a struggling entrepreneur or a well-established construction company, construction leads, are hard to come by without churning out some dollars. However, with the advent of the internet, looking for such can be easier and less costly.
Your first choice would of course be the free sites that provide leads. There are some that lists directories of builders or home owners that advertise their need for contractors. These sites might not necessarily be construction-related sites. You can also find some in trade and “buy and sell” sites that include services in their menu of products. Of course, since they are free, you do not get guaranteed information from these sites. However, this could give you a good lead to start digging deeper.
Another good idea is to post your qualifications and services information in free sites that allow you to do so, among them is the You Tube. You might also want to post pictures or short videos of your previous projects and your company’s profile to add a more convincing power to your posts. Put in short catchy phrases and make sure that you reflect the correct contact information. Since most of those who search through the internet prefer to communicate via e-mail, be sure to put your correct e-mail address in the ad. If you are lucky, you might get a mail from a potential client. But chances are there is also a great likelihood that your video won’t get any attention and you get an empty mail box time and again.
If you are inclined to write, you can also write an informative article on construction and do it yourself home projects and submit it to your local newspaper. These publishing units are always hungry for articles to fill their pages. At the end of the article, write your name, contact information and a short introduction of your construction firm or your profession. There are almost always new constructions planned in any neighborhood.
No matter how small in most cases, it could be a good way of building your track record in your area. Just make sure that you give the right information and appear to be an authority on your subject matter. The newspaper company might just publish it to fill gaps in their pages, but you can’t always fool the reader.
